Holy Cross School Administration

Angela Budzinski, Principal (pictured at right)
Angie has worked in the field of education for 30 years and has been with Holy Cross for the past 19 years. She holds a B.S. from Beloit College, and a M.S. from Indiana University. In 2002, Angie was named the Diocesan Principal of the Year and was then nominated for National Principal of the Year.

 Clarice Trzaskowski, Assistant Principal, Computer Science This is Clarice's ninth year at Holy Cross.  She received her BS in Education from IUSB in 1991.  She has completed her work on her ENL (English as a New Language) certificate through the University of Notre Dame ACE (Alliance for Catholic Education) Program.  Clarice has also taught in New York state, teaching 2nd and 4th graders Junior Achievement.  She is the mother of a current Crusader, and she herself is a graduate of Holy Cross School.  In addition to teaching, you can also find Clarice cheering on various Holy Cross sports teams after school and on the weekends.

Michele Daugherty, Administrative Assistant
Michele came to Holy Cross in 2013 from Family & Children's Center.  She has one grandchild at Holy Cross and has 6 other grandchildren ranging from ages 26 to 10.

Gloria Kucela, Office Assistant
Gloria is beginning her ninth year in the office.  She is the mother of two Crusader graduates.  She graduated from St. Mary's College with a degree in Philosophy, with a minor in Religious Studies and Psychology.

Ann Priebe, Office Assistant
Ann is beginning her ninth year at Holy Cross.  She has worked in the office for the past three years and has also worked as an Aide and substitute teacher for several years.  She is the mother of two Crusader graduates and is also a Crusader graduate herself.

Cara Barnes, 3rd Grade

Cara has been teaching for 12 years and this is her 7th year at Holy Cross School. She graduated from Indiana University at South Bend with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has two little Crusaders of her own in third and sixth grades.  She has taught second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

Margaret Copelin, Physical Education This is Margaret's third year at Holy Cross.  She came to us from St. John the Baptist School in South Bend.  She holds a Master Degree in Elementary Education and a BS Degree in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management.

Barb Echard, Junior High Reading
Barb has taught at Holy Cross for 22 years (Language Arts and Computer)  and holds a B.A. from Purdue University.

Deanna Finfrock, Preschool / Prekindergarten 
This is Deanna's first year as preschool/prekindergarden teacher.  She has been the Aide in our preschool/prekindergarden for 2 years.  She has worked several years as our SCRIP coordinator and also is a substitute teacher.

JoAnn Goepfrich, 1st Grade
JoAnn has 27 years of teaching experience in Catholic Schools, plus this year will be her 13th at Holy Cross. She has a Master's degree in Elementary Education from IUSB.

Rebecca Hagen, Junior High Religion
This is Becci's fifth year at Holy Cross. She graduated from Holy Cross College in 2011 with degrees in Elementary Education, English Language Learner, and Middle School Mathematics.

Erin Harker, 5th Grade
This is Erin's forth year at Holy Cross and her sixth year of teaching in Catholic Schools.  She previously taught at IHM / St. Casimir School in Lansing, Michigan.  Erin earned her BS in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics from Grand Valley State University.  She received her Masters Degree through Spring Arbor University.

Debbie Hudak, School Counselor
Debbie is in her  21st year at Holy Cross and her 24th year in Education. She received her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Purdue University and an MS in School Guidance Counseling from Indiana University, South Bend.  In addition to individual and group counseling at Holy Cross, Deb teaches a character education program in each grade once a month.  Preschool thru 5th grade receive PeaceWorks and 6th-8th grades learn LifeSkills.  Each of these classes teach the student about respect, boundaries, how to have healthy relationships, positive outlets for feelings, anger or stress, how to form friendships and how to positively stand up to bullying.  Deb also tries to teach how to make positive life choices and to be able to make positive life choices and to be able to see how certain choices have consequences.  She is married with two beautiful daughters.

Stefani Jedrzejewski, Junior High Science and Social Studies
Stefani has spent the past 18 years teaching at Holy Cross. She earned her BS from Indiana University.  While at Holy Cross, she has taught computer, 3rd and 5th grades and 6th grade science. 

Kathy Kowalski, Resource Teacher
Kathy has educated the minds and hearts of Crusader students for 29 years. She received her BA from Nazareth College.  She was a recent recipient of the Light of Learning Award.  She has taught 2nd and 3rd grade and is currently one of our Resource Teachers.

Melissa Manier, 2nd Grade
Melissa has been teaching elementary school in the South Bend area for 20 years, the last 15 of them at Holy Cross. She began her teaching here in Early Childhood Music and for the last eleven years has happily taught 2nd grade.  In addition, Melissa has been the Director of the annual Jr. High play for the last 8 years.  She is the mother of three former Crusaders and holds a BS in Education from Indiana University.

Kim McClain, Art
Kim has been at Holy Cross for 19 years.  She received her BS degree in Art and Design from Ball State University in Muncie Indiana.  All  three of her children are former Crusaders.  She considers teaching Art a true blessing.

Ashley Parmelee, Kindergarten
Ashley has a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education from Ball State University.  She is in her 12th year of teaching.  Ashley has had the privilege of teaching special education preschool, preschool, first, third, fourth, and now kindergarten!  She is the mother of 2 current Crusaders.

Becky Ridenour:  Resource Aide
Becky has been at Holy Cross for 9 years as a lunchroom aide, resource aide and as a primary grade classroom aide.  She was at Bridges Preschool as an Early Childhood aide for 6 years.  She spent 10 years as an Instructional Resource Specialist with South Bend Community School Corporation Bilingual Department.

Jennifer Sosinski, 4th Grade
Jennifer has been in education for the past 26 years, including 21 years with Holy Cross. She earned her BS from Elmhurst College.

Julie Van Meter, Music
This is Julie's 10th year at Holy Cross. She received her Bachelor's of Music degree from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame IN and has been teaching music for 25 years.

Gail Dukes
Gail has 18 years of experience with the Holy Cross School Library.  



Denise Botka:  Denise has returned as a Lunchroom Aide after a short break.  She has worked several years as a Lunchroom Aide.

Patty Myers:  Lunchroom/Recess Aide.  Patty graduated from IVY Tech and Saint Mary's College.  She is a former Crusader, as is her son.  Patty also assists the school office staff and is invaluable in her assistance in putting together the Communication Folder.

After School Care
Roxann Knapp:  Coordinator in our After School Care.  Roxann began teaching at Holy Cross in 2010 and has extensive Montessori experience earning her education at IUSB/TMA Montessori Teaching Academy at Edison Lakes.  Roxann coordinated several programs while working at Montessori Academy for eight years.  She returns to Holy Cross, having fulfilled the roll as a parent of three former Crusaders.  She also is a substitute teacher here at Holy Cross and previously was our Preschool teacher.

Erik Wishmeier:  After School Aide.  Erik worked as a Kindergarten Aide at Holy Cross School for 4 years.  He is currently in his 10th year as an After School Care Aide. 

Ron Dials:  Maintenance Supervisor.  Ron comes to use from St. John's and has served in maintenance for many years, both in South Bend Community Schools and local Diocesan schools.

Lidia Guevara:  This is Lidia's third year as an afternoon custodian.  Her son, Matthew, is in prekindergarten at Holy Cross this year.

Bill Myers:  Bill is in his 12th year at Holy Cross and is currently working as our part time custodian.     He has an ASB in Business Management/Accounting from Michiana College of Commerce. He also earned a certificate from the IRS for Tax Preparation and for Locksmithing from Foley-Belsay Institute.  Bill enjoys his family and being around nature.

Barb Stevenson:  Barb has been with Holy Cross school for 21 years.  She is currently an afternoon custodian and has worked as a lunchroom aide for several years.    Barb enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
